A stylized fist and the phrase: piss on pity.

ADA March Can Only Go One Block.

(MEMPHIS) The Memphis Center for Independent Living will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act with a March and roundtable discussion of the status of ADA compliance in Memphis. The Memphis Center for Independent Living has been working for 20 years with the Memphis community in improving accessibility for persons with disability in all areas of life. For many years the city of Memphis has been woefully negligent in their compliance with The Americans with Disabilities Act as documented in a 15-year timeline that will be available at the event or by request via email.

Please join us at 10:30 AM, Friday, July 29 at MCIL’s old location at 163 North Angelus, (rain or shine), the corner of Angelus and Poplar Avenue. The march will be approximately 1 block South on Angelus to 1633 Madison Avenue headquarters for MCIL. The short distance illustrates symbolically the lack of commitment and progress, which the city has made in being in step with current Federal Law. Disability rights advocates, community leaders and citizens who believe that the Civil Rights Movement is for everyone including persons with disabilities are all invited.

After the march an informal roundtable discussion will take place at the Memphis Center for Independent, 1633 Madison Avenue.
