(WASHINGTON, DC April 21) ADAPT, a national grassroots disability rights group, and NAPAS, the National Association of Protection and Advocacy Systems, will hold a joint press conference April 21 at 11AM, on the steps of the Supreme Court, following oral arguments on the Georgia lawsuit known as LC & EW v. Olmstead.

"The Supreme Court will be hearing oral arguments on a lawsuit that could put back in place what former President George Bush called 'the shameful wall of exclusion' separating people with disabilities from other Americans," said national ADAPT organizer Linda Anthony, "The Olmstead lawsuit could strip the ADA of it's fundamental civil rights clause, integration".

The lawsuit has raised enormous concern in the disability community, because of it's potential to remove the "most integrated setting" mandate in the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). It has also spurred on grassroots action to demand that attorneys general and governors across the country understand the significance of the lawsuit. An unprecedented 19 state attorneys general have removed their states from Amicus Briefs submitted to the Supreme Court in support of Georgia's lawsuit.

The press is invited to the following events in support of the ADA and plaintiffs, Lois (LC) and Elaine (EW) right to services in "the most integrated setting":
