"THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME"
RALLY FOR MiCASA

& Tribute to Evan Kemp

From across the nation, from out of the heartland the call for MiCASA is growing ... from a rumble to a roar. It's time we pull back the curtains in the Capitol, use our own smoke and mirrors, and let the powers that be hear our call. As Dorothy put it so well: There's no place like home!

Whether you have brains, courage or a heart, or need some of the above, you know the key role attendant services play in letting us live in our own home sweet homes. Without attendant services though, getting back to your own home can be as hard as getting back from OZ!

Follow the yellow brick road to a national attendant services program. Just click your ruby slippers, or whatever you click, and join disability rights advocates from across the country in Washington DC for the No Place Like Home Rally and Tribute to Evan Kemp.

Sunday November 9, 1997 1:30 p.m. Capitol Building, Washington DC

Invited speakers:

House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Introducer of MiCASA, HR 2020 Minority Leader and MiCASA co-sponsor Dick Gephardt Congresspersons Michael Bilirakis and Sherrod Brown Senators Ted Kennedy, Pete Domenici, Arlen Specter and Bill Frist

ADAPT member and supporter Evan Kemp, long time disability rights activist and leader in the passage of early disability rights legislation and the Americans with Disabilities Act, passed away this summer. This rally is dedicated to his memory.
