MEMPHIS (Feb. 14, 1998) Memphis area youth and young adults with disabilities will have a Valentine's Day Dance hosted by Rhodes College on Feb. 14 from 6 till 9 p.m. The dance is sponsored by the Catholic Pallotti Ministries, Learning Disabilities Association, United Cerebral Palsy social group, Brain Injury Association, and PALs II and III.
At last years Spring Fling Dance (April 19, 1997), Rhodes hosted more than 100 youth and young adults with disabilities. No lone disability is singled out, the event is geared for youth with any disability. "This is a unique opportunity for young people with disabilities." Said Pat Jessup, coordinator of PALs. "Dances are not usually planned for youth with disabilities so generally they are left out."
Youth are encouraged to bring music they like on CD or tape. Rhodes will provide the DJ and sound equipment. The dance will be held at the Campus Life Center. The Rhodes campus is at 2000 North Parkway. For more information call Pat Jessup at 726-6404.
