Veronica Coleman, The Federal Attorney of West Tennessee announced a settlement in the first 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act case handled by her office. The consent decree was signed by Judge Turner on August 31 and basically states that The Public Eye will become accessible, pay a modest penalty to the United States and pay $5000 to Memphis ADAPT.

Deadlines of the consent decree:

• Accessible entrance with new door hardware and proper signs
  DEADLINE November 29

• An accessible rest room
  DEADLINE November 29

• Accessible parking
  DEADLINE September 30

• Menus on cassette tape player provided immediately on request
  DEADLINE September 30

• Training for all employees
