In continuing with Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream to end discrimination for all American’s ADAPT groups around the country held direct action campaigns in their local towns and cities, ADAPT is America's leading disability rights group.
In support of these actions around the country ADAPT of Tennessee held an action at the Memphis Housing Authority, MHA. "There are many housing issues that prevent people from moving out of nursing homes and moving into their own homes," said Randy Alexander, "MHA could do lots of little things that could make a big difference." Why direct action, because over 6500 people with disabilities, young and old, are being held against their will buy the State of Tennessee and other agencies within the State.
