Send the leadership of the National Governors' Association (NGA) a Valentines Day message:
Home is Where the Heart Is!

From the ADAPT Community,
Dear Advocates for Home and Community Services:

Gov. Rendell announces introduction of the Resolution in Seattle Washington.Let them know, and your Governor too, that they should have a heart and support the Resolution originally introduced by Governor Rendell at the Seattle NGA meeting.

You can create your own message and send a fax via the Internet.

On this Valentine's Day, February 14, 2005, we are asking the Governors belonging to the NGA to "Have A Heart" and pass Governor Rendell's original Resolution for Home and Community Services.

You can help by doing the following:

There is a sample letter there, which you can change, or use as is!

BACKGROUND

The National Governors Association (NGA) will be voting on an important Medicaid reform of long term services and supports policy/resolution at their Winter meeting in Washington, DC on March 1st. Governor Rendell of Pennsylvania had submitted a strongly worded resolution that if passed will design the roadmap for the reform of the Medicaid funded institutionally biased long term care system.

Read the original ADAPT Resolution introduced by Governor Rendell.

The Health and Human Services Committee of the NGA has "broken our hearts" by watering down the original resolution.

The full NGA needs to "Have A Heart" and restore the resolution to its original intent.
