Disability, Civil Rights Bus Tour Sept 18 at the National Civil Rights Museum
The Voices of Civil Rights Bus Tour departed from Washington, D.C. on August 3rd. It is scheduled to be at the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis from 10:30 Am to 3 PM on Saturday, September 18. Join the bus as it travels to some of the cities along the route of the 1961 Freedom Rides to Jackson, Mississippi, and proceed to historic sites around the country as they gather personal (YOUR) stories about the Civil Rights Movement and the continuing quest for equality in America today.
On board are a team of award-winning journalists, photographers, and videographers. They will document the people and special events that are part of the tour. The History Channel is filming the Voices of Civil Rights Bus Tour. Their work will culminate with a one-hour documentary about this 70-day odyssey, scheduled to air in February 2005.
