Robert Lipscomb Commits the Memphis Housing Authority to do Self Evaluation

Robert Lipscomb and Mayor Herrenton. (MEMPHIS, August 12, 2004) Robert Lipscomb, Executive Director of the Memphis Housing Authority (MHA) has signed an agreement committing MHA to:

Conduct a complete self evaluation of compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act as amended and the Fair Housing Act as amended.
That a representative from and selected by ADAPT of Tennessee participate in the evaluation.
This self evaluation start by September 13th 2004 and be completed by September 13th 2005.

“We are excited the Memphis Housing Authority has decided to meet our demands. We will closely work with the MHA during and after this evaluation to work together to help bring equity to the system. We came here today to move forward towards affordable, accessible and integrated housing for people with disabilities and MHA doing a self evaluation will help us in Memphis head towards that goal” said Randy Alexander.
