How is TennCare redetermination going?
Here is the redetermination data that we have as of September 25,
2002:
First Mailing - June 28, 2002. End of ninety days - September 30, 2002
Number of individuals mailed to - 15,000
No appointments scheduled - 10,235
Status unknown - 350

Second Mailing - July 29, 2002. End of ninety days - October 29, 2002

24% eligible for TennCare Medicaid

39% eligible for TennCare Standard
14% eligible for Medical Eligibility (uninsurable) 100%
TennCare has heard from slightly less than 30%. Over 15,000 individuals did not get their letter and it was returned to TennCare.
Only about 1,000 people have appealed their disenrollment. As data becomes available, I will share it with you. It goes without saying that we have a lot of work to do between now and the end of December.
