Boy scouts assist the community
Building wheelchair access ramps

The Memphis Center for Independent Living provided the materials and a local Boy scout provided the design and labor. In fact, the most expensive part of building a ramp at your home is the cost of the design and labor. MCIL has a great resource for people planning to build a ramp at their home.

If you can use the labor and experience of friends, family or a civic group like the boy scouts, you can considerably cut the cost necessary to make your home accessible.

MCIL now has assisted in building over thirty ramps in the Memphis area.
