A federal lawsuit has been filed alleging that the builders and designers of the apartment complexes below violated the Fair Housing Act by constructing ground floor apartments which are not accessible to persons with physical disabilities.
The United States Department of Justice, who has responsibility for enforcing the accessibility provisions of the Fair Housing Act, is concerned with locating persons who may have been harmed by the alleged lack of accessibility in this housing. No findings have been made by any court as to whether the defendants in this case have violated the Fair Housing Act. But, victims of housing discrimination may be entitled to receive money damages if liability is found and damages are proven. If you or someone you know has ever tried to rent or has rented at Champion Hills Windyke, Champion Hills Stonebridge, Eton Square Apartments, or the Wyndham Apartments and you or the person you know is physically disabled, the Department of Justice would like to know about your experience.
