ADAPT stands for action, equality and power.

Money Follows the Person - ADAPTAmericans deserve REAL CHOICE rather than being restricted to the nursing home as a final resting place.

Across our nation people are enraged that states make it too easy to put people with disabilities out of sight in nursing homes and too difficult for people to live in their own home. Many U.S. states cater to the subsidized nursing home industry. Tennessee is the worst.

ADAPT has a comprehensive plan that not only will be more cost effective, but provides Americans with the dignity stripped away by institutions. MiCASSA is REAL CHOICE.

National ADAPT is coordinating a grassroots effort to get MiCASSA introduced and passed in the 106th Congress. Of course, ADAPT continues to work in the traditional areas of civil rights:
transportation and housing.

ADAPT of Tennessee demands that our state STOP the illegal segregation of people with disabilities into nursing homes.

Memphis ADAPT is on the front lines of the fight for pride, dignity and power. We demand accessible public transportation, compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and an end to the barriers that prevent the integration of people with disabilities in our community. FREE OUR PEOPLE!
